So I finally got a SR10 and I think I might have had too high of expectations. I get 2 inch groupings from 30 feet away and my hop up barely works when on max. Also the BBs curve to the right slightly. I'm using kind of poor quality BBs ( Airsplat 20g) so it might definitely be that but how about the curving to the right? I'm sort of worried I might of gotten a lemon?

The gearbox will shoot excess amounts of gear and synthetic grease in the first 2-4,000 rounds. During this "break in" time you might want to clean the barrel and bucking if you are familiar with the process. The bb's also may be a contributing factor, all of kwa's accuracy information are 99.9% tested with KWA Perfect bb's.

P.S: You will want to use .25 gram bb's without a doubt. This will also increase accuracy, as to the hop up issue your hop up nub may be out of place. If this is the issue it will require you to take apart the hop up chanber.

Yeah I heard of that break in period. I read the sticky on cleaning the barrel and hop up so I know exactly how to go about doing that. I plan on using .25s from now on and use all my crappy .20s now. While I'm cleaning out the hop up and barrel I'll be sure to make sure its perfectly aligned. I have OCD or something so I always think somethings wrong with my new guns.

Hey NathanE92, welcome to the Forums and let's see if we can get you fixed up.  Born-sniper-2011 is on the right tract.  Start with cleaning the bucking.  Here is a thread that should help: http://kwausa.com/fo...?showtopic=4787

Swabbing the inside of the bucking with a clean Q-Tip can really help too.

Also, change to heavier, high quality BB's.  I would consider .3 KWAs.  I like them a lot myself.

Tomorrow I'll go to a local shop and get some quality BBs. I'll clean it right now and let you all know. Also, thanks for the warm welcome. I've been following the forums for quite some time now just to see exactly what it will be like to own a KWA. I notice that KWA seems to have the best support.

I was cleaning my barrel last night and noticed that on the left side of the barrel window there was some small burrs that would actually catch the BB and not let it fall through the barrel cleanly. I used a small needle and kind of "sanded" it down a little bit so now the BBs move freely but you can still very faintly see the burr. Any recommendations?

Haven't taken it out yet because I still haven't had time to go to the airsoft store to pick up some BBs. I hope that it doesn't affect it. I read the thread one more time and the disassembly thread and video so that hop up is spotless. I will get back to you guys if the accuracy is any better with a clean barrel/ hop up, .25s, and removal of that burr.

I bet that you'll see an improvement.  It was on of the steps completed when My EdGI barrel was installed in my MP7 and it can make a difference in accuracy and consistency.

So I just came back from my backyard. Hop up still seems like it barely works. On max it barely gets it up enough to get it in a straight line. Maybe all I can do now is wait till it breaks in? I got a free bag of TSD .25s I'm using.


Also I've only put about 1000 rounds through it so far.

It sounds to me that your nub is either lodged in the hop-up window or too soft.  I recommend replacement.

This is quite frustrating. I feel like my whole hop up and barrel assembly is all out of whack. I've only had this SR10 for a week and I'm already feeling quite dissapointed. Ive had some cheap AEGs in the past that had better range and accuracy stock. =/

Well something bad happened once again. This time as I was shooting in my backyard all a sudden it stopped firing and started making nasty grindy noises. Idk if its a stipped piston or stripped gears. What do I do?

One of 3 things:

• If under warranty - Send it to KWA for repair
  
• If you know of a competent tech - Send it to local tech for repair
  
• Repair it yourself.

How are you with gearbox repairs and how old is the gun?

I know a lot about gearbox tech and I can repair it myself but luckily its still under warrranty so I'm opting for that first. Just sent in a ticket explaining. I looked inside the opening on the gearbox and see little pieces of piston in there. Hopefully it comes back shooting like a boss again but with better accuracy because I addressed that in there, just in case.
