I am seriously considering buying a KWA 1911 Mk2 and some extra grips because the stock ones are ugly. All I can find are 1911 grips that are made for Tokyo Maruis. Anyone know if KWA and TM 1911 grips are compatible?

Not sure but some real steel grips are.

Eh, well I guess I'll take one for the team and buy the Marui grips. I'll report back and say if they fit or not.

I can confirm that Marui grips do not fit. The gap between the screws is a tiny bit too small and also the grips as a whole are smaller than the MkII's grips.

Perhaps with a small drill bit, you could mod the Marui grips to have their holes a little wider? ...(no pun intended)

Yeah, you could, but the entire grip is smaller than the KWA's, so it wouldnt look right. I just gave the Marui grips to my little brother for his WE. I actually have some rosewood on the way for some custom M1911 grips I'll be making.

Ive tried to change the grips and the only downside is that the oem grips are weighted, without those if feels a little weird. Though I guess you could put some on the new grips. The holes dont line up perfectly though, its a little off.
