That's the nice thing about 7,4v lipos is you are not as limited on their specifications as you are with a 11.1v lipo. A 7.4v 1800mah 25C lipo will still give you about the same ROF as a 7.4v 2000mah 15C pack, just with a higher amp output which is nice for semi auto trigger response. The 14-15 rounds per second in full auto is also slow enough that it wont abuse your gearbox as much as a 11.1v lipo. If you're not going with a 11.1v pack I would say that you could go without a mosfet right away, if you want to save up for a higher end model.

The bummer about ordering from hobbyking is most of their packs are not "intended" for airsoft, meaning that they just don't have the standard airsoft connections installed unless you buy the "airsoft" nano-tech packs. So many of them will need the correct connectors installed. This is one way that airsoft stores like evike and ASGI make money, they sell "airsoft" lipos to customers that don't realize that they have become very cheap in the R/C world. If you're planning on switching your gun over to Dean's connectors then you would have to put new connections on the batteries anyways.

I don't know where in Austin you're located, but there are two HobbyTownUSA stores in your city.

http://www.hobbytown.../StoreLocator/#

HobbyTownUSA Austin North
2500 West Parmer Lane, Stuite 80
Austin, TX 78727
(512) 246-8904

HobbyTownUSA Austin- South Park Meadows
9900 S IH-35 Suite F200
Austin, TX 78748
(512) 440-7877

They are a great stores and offer all sorts of R/C related gadgets, and the stores back in Omaha had a limited airsoft selection too (mostly overpriced or just not worth it). However they will have everything you need to get your AEG switched over to Dean's

Like a Deans charger cable: http://www.hobbytown...ans-Male-Ultra/
or a Deans male to Large Tamiya female: http://www.hobbytown...d-Male-Adapter/

Four pack of Deans Ultra Female plugs: http://www.hobbytown...lug-Female-4pc/
Two pack of Deans Ultra Male plugs: http://www.hobbytown...-Plug-Male-2pc/

They will also definitely do the soldering for you, switching your guns battery connection and your battery packs for a little fee, probably like $10-15 bucks you'll have to ask them their rates though.

Also to answer your question earlier that I missed, lipo batteryes are 3.7v per cell so a 2S "two cell" pack is 7.4v and a 3S pack is 11.1v.

Alrighty then. I will just get the same battery that you got! For a higher trigger response out of the increased ampage.

There are 3 Hobby stores here that I know of, including the Hobby Towns you linked. So getting the FET installed, and the Deans connectors installed will be fairly easy, and cheap.

And ahhhh, ok that makes more sense...wow why didn't I just think about it for 2 seconds, I coulda figured it out myself. But thanks anyway!

So, I am going to get the Turnigy Nano-Tech 1800mah 2S 7.4v 25C airsoft battery. With the B6-AC charger. A lipo-charger sack. Then, I will get the Extreme-Fire Cheetah FET. Around $150 total. So that would work right?

You may want to check with those hobby stores first to see if they have anyone that is willing and able to install a mosfet unit first before assuming. Like I said they will be able to switch out battery connections one the gun and packs, but they may not have any experience opening a gearbox. You may be better off finding an airsoft store with a qualified airsmith for the mosfet installation as it is a pretty advanced task.

That setup won't work, it will dominate lol!

I called the 3 stores. None of them have a technician who could help me. So I am going to go on my Local Airsoft Community's forum and see if anyone can help me there.

And haha, sweeeet!

Hey. Would this be something you would recommend to get? http://www.hobbyking...ll_checker.html

Or maybe this one? http://www.hobbyking...ipo_users_.html

One is for checking cells in between games while the other is an active alarm. Both are for packs that are too large for most airsoft applications (4c & 6c). You want 3c for 11.1v or 2c for 7.4.

You need to keep an eye on your voltage. Some use alarms, some just keep track and "eye ball" it, some use 'fets with active monitoring. If you let a cell drop too low in voltage, it will be damaged (often times by puffing).

Edit: Just looked over the first link again (the checker) and it handles up to 6 cells. So that one should be fine for checking the state of your battery as you come off the field.

Best way to accurately check individual cells is on a smart balance charger.  But if you are worried about damage to a battery cell from voltage falling too low during a game you can go with an LVA (low voltage alarm).  I think elite airsoft batteries cell them as well but they call theirs LVC.  Your battery is more than likely a 3S pack so get the proper monitor.

That's a pretty good deal, $73 bucks shipped for all that ain't bad at all. Did you get any "special offers"? If you sit on a product long enough a small pop up should appear offering a limited discount for that cart. You might have to clear your browser cookies to have it show up. You also might have to play with it to see what the best deal is, probably get a few bucks off the charger or a dollar off the lipo.

Were you just getting the one battery? Might be a good idea to get two if you can afford it. ;)

Does anyone use Standard Turnigy or Zippy Flightmax Lipos? I recently installed a faulty AWS Raptor in my gun and I am almost positive it ruined my 60 dollar RA-Tech 11.v because the wrap around the lipo melted at two spots with two holes. I don't feel like shelling out another 60 bucks for a lipo so has anyone used this battery in a KM4 crane stock with success or the Turnigy 11.1v 1600mah 20c battery? Also if anyone has any suggestions let me know, my Raptor replacement should be sent out soon and depending on the time it takes to get here will decide if I will go with a battery available in a USA warehouse or a global one. The discharge rating is of no concern to me as long as it is 30C or under since I no longer use the stock trigger contacts. http://www.hobbyking...Warehouse_.html

I don't see why that battery wouldn't work.  Constant and burst discharge rate seems ok to me when used with your mosfet.

I actually changed my mind. I'm going to get an M4. So, no more MOSFET. No need for a burst.

And hmmm. Well why a 2nd battery? Incase the 1st one fails?

This is the battery I was looking at to fit into the M4's forearm: http://www.hobbyking...RSOFT_Pack.html

Oh damn, wait, the USMC uses the M4, not the M4A1, so, I would still need a MOSFET to replicate burst fire. :-/

Second battery not for in case if fails, just in case it dies during a game. ;)

Either one of those batteries will fit inside the standard M4 Hand Guard.

If you want burst fire without a mosfet, simple ...just let off the trigger after pulling it in full auto. Bingo, burst fire! :D

Oh...gotcha, never looked at it that way.

And Ahaha. That's not good enough for me. Sadly.
