**EDIT**  I forgot to mention.  The best way to get your gun working is to send it to experienced KWA techs! Try this at your own risk!

Hey guys,   I just wanted to share this in case it was happening to anyone else.

I purchased a NS2 M93R from airsoftatlanta.com.  It arrived right away even though I am in Japan at the moment so props to them.   The Gun is awesome.  Everything I expected from an NS2 KWA piece.  However, I was having an issue with the slide locking back even when the magazine was full.

Also the harder I gripped the pistol the more often it happened.  If I gripped it hard enough it would lock the slide back on every shot.

If I held the slide stop down while firing, the gun would fire in all modes without a hitch.  But with me holding down the slide lock, it would not stay back on teh last shot.

Also If I held the gun loosely it would fire fine, even empty a full mag on full auto in most cases.

I contacted KWA since the gun was brand new.  Naturally without any hesitation they told me to send it in to be repaired under warranty with no headaches.  Just the kind of customer service I was expecting from KWA.

But still, me being me, of course I had to give it a go myself.  Void the warranty? yes, but it's in my nature to ^7*K with this kind of stuff.  It's part of the fun to tinker with these guns.

So after watching the slide lock on a high frame rate video camera it seemed apparent the rcoil energy was transferred to the slide lock when the gun was held tightly and would cause it to bounce up prematurely.

Now a stronger slide stop spring might solve this issue, but I am sure KWA made the spring rate what it is for a reason.  I needed the slide lock to stay down just a hair more than it did.

Enough talk here is what you came for.

Disassemble the weapon to it's basic parts...

Rotate the slide stop 60 degrees or so and slide it out being careful not to damage your slide lock spring.

Then remove the left side grip panel...

The first thing to try is to increase the tension of the slide stop spring.  The red lines are the original spring position. You can increase the tension by slightly bending the legs...
Posted Image

Take a small file and flatten/deburr the top of the slide lock.  JUST A FEW STROKES WILL DO!  The red arrow points to the shiny part of the slide stop that I filed...
Posted Image

Then take the grip panel and file the area where the slide lock sits to be just a hair deeper.  You may also deburr/widen the gap between the grip panel and the frame to give the slide lock some breathing room.

Put it all together again.  It should look no different than it did before.

You'll notice the slide stop is now just slightly recessed and out of the way...

The slide stop now functions fine WHEN IT IS TIME TO FUNCTION and out of the way when it's not.

Here is the M93R and it's associated M93R belt rig=).  The other M93R is actually a KSC Plug Fire Cap gun.  I purchased it on accident, it turned out to be pretty friggen cool.

 nifty.   I usually just tweak the spring and it does the job.

yeah, I was really hoping a spring tweak was going to fix the issue, but in my case it did not. I think I should have mentioned to try that first, but it does happen to be in the manual's troubleshoot guide.

If you'd like to edit the guide with the spring tweak first, I can recommend this be pinned as a user fix.

From your picture, I can see that your slide stop spring is damaged, is it still working alright?

I went ahead and made those changes to the original post.

I played with the spring so much at first it did become a little mishapen.  I really was trying everything not to have to take a file to my brand new replica.

I have this same problem, but i'm not very experienced with messing with the internals of a gas pistol. I just got the gun in the mail yesterday, It works pretty good, i just used it at a skirmish game today, and it worked good except for when the slide will lock back even with a full mag. Your fix will most likely work for my case, cause it's the same problem, but i don't want to touch it. Is there any other way i can fix it? I cant play holding the gun loosely, the accuracy wouldn't be the same.  Any suggestions on what i should do?

Hi thanks for this fellas. I have to tell you this is a great gun and fierce on 3 round burst. People run in fear. But the gun was locking back on burst and semi. Semi was worse than burst. I dont use full auto. Now that i did the simple spring fix it works a charm! I was considering selling. No way. Going to order a tighter barrel for it now :)

Here's a perfect case where taking the time to search the forum pays off.  Kudos to Dave1.
