As I was reading through last week forum posts there were at least 4 separate questions about which mid cap magazine works for KWA AEGs. On the other hand, keeping the compatibility list updated doesn't always answer "Will Brand XYZ works?" simply because it is NOT on the list.
In any case, I like to concentrate all the "Which Mid Cap?" discussion to one single thread. And please spend sometime reading the information below so you can make a sound decision.
Consider the following before asking should I buy this mid-cap or not.
1. Is it on the compatibility list?
2. Quality of the mag and consistency on manufacturing play an important role.
3. There is NO absolute answer when it comes to aftermarket products.
4. Only one that KWA can guarantee 100% is KWA brand Mid cap

It's not always updated and information can change from time to time. And this bring it to my second point.
2. Quality of the mag and consistency on manufacturing play an important role.
In most cases mid caps are make in two type of materials. Metal or Plastic. Metal casing looks real, a little more weight and dropping them usually have little damage. It does get scratch up easily and can cost a substantially more than plastic mag. If the dimension of the mag is done right, there should be little issue with fitting. Unless they are made for oversize mag well. Case in point G&P metal mid caps are oversize compared to ours and they will not fit our receiver.
Plastic mags are very economical. On average they are $8-$10 a mag so even if it breaks or lost one during game you aren't going to feel much pain. However, being economical have a pretty big disadvantage. I have discuss this before but I never pin it so I'm going to explain one more time. So pay attention kiddos...
Plastic mags are injection molded. Let's say the mold itself have a limited lifespan before the dimension shifted. For example, if a mold have a lifespan of 5000 mag. It should be discarded after 5000 use. However, some companies likes to save money by continuously running the mold to make 6000, 7000 or even until it breaks to maximize profits. And this is why you get conflicting reports on certain brands works for some people and not the other. Or even the same box of mid caps have some work and some doesn't.
And that brings to my next point.
3. There is NO absolute answer when it comes to aftermarket products.
Different brands have their own policy on quality assurance program. Some may not even have any. This is why I hesitate to answer will brand XYZ works with our guns unless I know the 3rd party company is working WITH us to ensure the mags are working on our products. Sadly, this can also make the compatibility list a moot point.
4. Only one that KWA can guarantee 100% is KWA brand Mid cap
Understanding #3 then I can safely say only KWA brand mid caps works with our gun because it's build to our spec. It is expensive to make so it's not as affordable as aftermarket brand. However, you'll the same quality you expected from KWA products and we'll address any issue if mag does fail on you. Before you say KWA mid cap don't feed either I encourage you contact our helpdesk first. We usually can resolve issue like this.
How to solve feeding issue.
So you got this fancy midcap that fit the KWA gun but seems to have some feeding issue. There are few thing you can do.
1. Clean the mid-cap.
Disassemble the mid-cap and clean the spring and the channel inside. Use a Q-tip if necessary. DO NOT LUBRICATE the MID-CAP. It will collect dust and dirty and will worsen feeding issue over time. Read the full discussion here. http://www.kwausa.co...?showtopic=3362
2. Try loading 85% - 90% of the advertise capacity.
For example, if the mid-cap advertise to hold 100 rd. Load 85 or 90 rd. Some mag advertise it can hold 190rd. However, consider the spring has to be very long and probably sneak more than twice inside a "Limited space". It might work when it is brand new but overtime the spring will get weaken and will fail to feed.
3. Try stretching the spring.

so do you want us to post our experiences with midcaps in our guns?
I can post some pics of my star/green label pmags and show what I had to do to get them to fit and feed well.
One great thing about plastic mags is that you can file and sand them easily to get them to fit. Metal mags require more work.

Magpul PTS 120round PMags. Yes the true PTS mags, not the green label STAR Pmags, that for some odd reason cost more then the RS version 
Aside from needing a bit of sanding along the top of the 'spine' on the back of the mag, the mags I used to have would feed nearly every BB with 1 or 2 left in the majority of cases. Quality almost perfect aside from the sanding marks that will be left on the top of the mag.
If I still ran a KWA M4, I'd have nothing but PTS 120s, and my friend and team CO also runs them in is KWA M4 and VFC 416.

Here are my experiences with midcaps in my SR5:
Mag midcaps:
A *bit* tight in my magwell, but feeds fine. No mods required.
Star/Green Label PMAGS (75 rounds):
I ordered Two 75rd tan Star PMAGS mags from one vendor on ebay...they were very tight in the magwell (had to physically rip the mag out), but right out of the box, fed perfectly.
Once I took a file to the rear of the mag, they loosened up (could now drop out of the magwell freely once I depressed the mag release). But because they loosened up, they stopped feeding. This was easily resolved by filing down the front of the 'wedge' in the BB feed port that keeps the bb's in the mag (the thing the spring pushes on). After filing about 1.5mm of material off, they feed GREAT!!!
I then ordered one black 75rd Star PMAG mag from a different vendor...and right out of the package, they fit fine..so struggle to get them in/out and drop out when the mag release is pressed. I have not yet test fired it...so, we will see. This is a perfect example of when allizard said that because of the nature of plastic mags, the molds will cause different batches of mags to differentiate. The tan mags and the black mags are both Star/green label 75rd PMAGS, but the black one fit great right out of the package.

I have a PTS Pmag, and it is quite a tight fit into my SR7 or 10. Unreasonably hard to pull out. Its feeds great tho.
My MAG midcaps fit great, but dont feed the first 10-15 bbs when fully loaded. It often double feeds.

Im lazy so im just gonna paste what iv already said on another thread 
i cant recommend echo 1 "dogs of war" midcaps enough. same issue as MAG where out of a pack of 8 one or two might not fit but they are metal, hold 100 bb's, 8 for $75 http://www.kastwayai...CHO-M16-MC.aspx (plus 10% off with coupon when you like them on fb) and they feel flawlessly to the last bb.
me and a friend both have kwa m4a1's his is brand new 2gx and mine is an older one but both work great. we both got an 8 pack each, 7 of mine fit and feed in mine and 6 of his fit and feed in his and mine (iv not tried mine in his). by fit and feed i mean fit with almost no wobble and not to tight that its hard to remove (but they wont fall out when mag release is pressed), and by feed i mean every mag feeds great from 1st bb to last iv never had a single issue of misfeed or double feed.

I ordered the Echo 1 "dogs of war" midcaps from Kastway along with some other stuff, and the midcaps are on backorder so I didn't get them. So I had to order them from airsoft arms, and they too, were on backorder, and it's been, what, 3 1/2 weeks, and I'm still waiting!

KWA already confirmed that Emags worked perfectly. However, I had to see for myself and I have to say that the Magpul E-mags really do fit perfectly and feed flawlessly.

Just got my King Arms AK-Style midcaps magazines in today..
King Arms AK-Style is on the left (or top, when stacked onto each other), and the KWA hicap is on the right (or bottom).
Some pictures might be a bit grainy. I edited them because they were a bit dark.
I haven't shot a whole heap with them yet, but I like how I have not yet had any misfeeds. Every shot loads right after the other. HOWEVER, they are VERY tight to fit into the gun, and equally tight to get out. It is as if I have to force it in and out of the gun.
I am not sure what to do to remedy this, as I am relatively new to airsoft. Should I keep inserting/taking out the magazines to "break them in", or should sanding be involved?
These AK-Style magazines are definitely longer than the KWA hicap, and obviously have a curvature to them. As I have just received these in the mail, I would have to see how to make it easier to reload with these magazines. I will probably update in a new post if there are posts under this one.
UPDATE EDIT 1: Earlier in my post I said the magazines are really hard to put in. This is true initially. However, insert/take it out of your gun a few times, and the plastic shaves down a bit to make it more tolerable (using an SR10).
I also measured the KWA hicap and the King Arms AK-style mag. The depth (when looking at the mag where the width is the skinniest part) of the KWA mag is 65 mm, I believe. King Arm's AK-style is 60 mm. However, this really isn't much of a problem (IMO). However I do think that you have to put them in a special way to make it easier on yourself.

I just tested the MAG plastic 130rd mid caps, and they work wonderfully, VERY tight fit, but they feed flawlessly.

Does anyone know if King Arms M16 120rds Mid Capacity Magazines, and Star M16 (10 Pack)(VN Style) 20rds Standard Capacity Magazines work in the KM16BR?!?!?! Please help!
