I made a mistake buying a battery for my kids ICS and bought http://www.ebay.com/...item2eb59cbbd8.
It turns out that I can fit this battery into the crane crane stock of my SRs. I played an entire day (very cold +/- 35 F) on this battery and shot around 5K rounds. That is an obsence amount of plastic down range on a single battery.

The battery did increase ROF and doesn't have the voltage drop off of a NiMh. Plus the cost is $20.00 making it a better choice than the NiMh. Gear up time is reduced since it stays charged with no real loss over a months time. Charge it, leave it unpluged in the gun and your ready.
I have an order in for a flame 9.9 LifePo4 1350Mh dual stick that will fit the crane stock. Its coming from China, so it may be a few weeks before I report back. Cost was 21.50 shipped.

I'm running these in my KM4 RIS (upgraded with SHS High Torque Motor, ASCU v2 MOSFET and SP110 spring):
HOT POWER 11.1V 1700mAh 15C Lithium Battery (2-pcs Stick Type)
and the ROF/trigger response is really nice. It's not as insane as with large 11.1v ~40-50A LiPos but definitly a big step up from those rather weak 9.6v 1600mAh twin types.
One important note though: These are NOT LiPo batteries!
When I got them I was a little confused because the sticker on the cells say "Hot Power battery" and "High Rate LiPoly LiFePO4 RC battery series" which does not mean that this pack is LiPoly AND LiFePO4 (which is impossible of course) - in fact it's neither.
LiPos are never made in solid-shell cells like these are.
LiFePO4s are, but they have a nominal voltage of 3.3V per cell, which would mean a pack of 3 cells had 9.9v...
This pack has 11.1v (checked with charger) so that means that it can only be a LiIon battery, more specifically either LiCo (Lithium Cobalt) or LiMn (Lithium Manganese).
I'm pretty sure it's LiMn as LiCo are pretty outdated, bad performance-wise and unsafe chemistry-wise.
LiMn are really fine chemistry though!
They are much more chemically stable, do not explode when subject to heat, mechanical force, overcharging etc.
They are in solid cells which makes handling them more pleasant.
They are very temperature resistant and
They perform similar to LiPos which means that they hold their charge really well, just with a slightly worse energy/mass-relation, which isn't really important for Airsoft.
You can also charge them with LiPo loaders (safe with 1C although I heard more is possible)
Just wanted to let you know, in case anybody would get these.
I will report back in case they die early or show signs of failure.
