10.8 Nimh To Much For Contacts? Any Worse Than A 9.6V?

Issue with it not firing was dirty contacts. The tech seems to think a Lipo would be better for long time durability, Because NiMh can spike at times.
I was thinking of switching to a 9.6v NiMh.
So is NiMh going to put more wear on the electrical system?
Would I be better off running 9.6v over 10.8v electrically wise?
Just rather not switch to Lipo right now. The 10.8nimh I have is 1500mah from elite airsoft batteries.

Just don't want to run into the same issue. BTW, the contacts were just cleaned to get them working. No damage.

My stock sr7 would feed fine on a 9.6 but it cycled way to fast to feed with my 11.1s. I couldn't use my lipos until I changed the spring.
The trigger response is very different with the lipo and the flow of bbs on full auto is very different. As a matter of fact I am trying to find a mosfet that will slow my rate of fire down with my lipo. My 9.6 will not pull the sp120 spring very well. And there is a substantial difference on my new gun between my 9.6 and 11.1 lipos with a sp110 madbull spring.
lipo on deans connectors is the way to go. But a 9,6 on deans is also more than acceptable.

I think it's worth mentioning also that not all NiMh are equal. Highly recommend elite airsoft batteries. Cheap and reliable.
Also doing a test on batteries that sat a few days is kind of pointless.(though the time you took and the data is still appreciated) A few hours is ok . You always charge your batteries before a game

Almost wondering about just trying the 10.8 again and hoping the same thing doesn't happen.
Maybe the dirty contacts weren't because of the battery?
