Will a KSC-advertised tightbore fit a KWA? I'm looking to purchase this gun soon and the only tightore that I could find that is 160mm is the one below:

It should, I have a PDI 6.01mm barrel in my MP7 and it stated for the KSC model.

Yeah, it should. I think there are other TBBs on the market though...

I know and I've heard a lot of good things about EDGI but this is the only short one I could find.

Is Falcon any good as a barrel maker?

Also, real quick; akiraspeedstar, can you use airsoft elite bbs(or similar quality bbs) through your 6.01 w/o any worries?

And it's too bad they don't offer them in the pro shop anymore. I called KWA and asked about them and they gave ma an "admit nothing, deny everything" attitude. I emailed edgi just a bit ago...

I've only used KSC/KWA Perfects in the gun after installing the barrel and have never had a jam or any other issues. The groupings and accuracy increased noticeably, not sure on range though as I haven't had a chance to get some longer field play in yet.

Heh, sorry about that. You may have difficulty finding one of those TBBs.

Oh boy, I've read those are undersized:

According to evike: "The KSC bbs are made smaller with diameter of 5.88mm+0.01mm, which is the preferred diameter for KWA / KSC USP and MP9 / UMP series Airsoft Gas Blowback GBB that are designed to work best with 5.88mm and smaller bb sizes.
FAQ: Most Taiwan and Japan made precision bbs averages 5.90~5.95mm in diameter. Common AEG barrel sizes are 6.00~6.10mm in diameter including KWA rifles and pistols. The magazine feeding chamber of the KWA MP9, TMP and USP series works best with KSC bbs."

I would say for the better too, but... IF it really was a big difference, that would seem to defeat the purpose of having an .01. Why not use an .03 with other brands? I'm not asking, tho, just stating, and, in no way am I questioning your setup akiraspeedstar, just mostly thinking out loud.

I read a comparison test that gave results out of 5 or 6 brands, the average diameter was 5.92-5.94:
http://www.foxairsof...rison-review-2/

Think I'm gonna do my research on quality bb compatibility w 6.01s. Or just stick with a 6.03. haha, but then that gets me thinkin, the MP7s barrel stock is 6.05 which is pretty modest, maybe if I do my research and find a brand that is slightly oversized, it'd be the same results as using a tightbore. One things for sure, although I am content with the accuracy I get stock, I would much rather have a smaller more consistent group.

*** Oh yea, EDGI emailed me back. They say they have the 6.01 instock, but said it was in 140mm. That's way short isn't it? It's $35+$40 shipping.

Well it's done. Just ordered a PDI 6.01 and a falcon hop up rubber from scopeandlaser. After reading about PDIs barrels, I decided they are the way to go. Steel + Hammer forging sounds like a very durable, high quality product.

After the PDI barrel my MP7 shot 15 out of 15 shots on a 4" target from 85'. I know that's not from super far away but I felt that was very good for such a short barrel.

That's about what I get with my stock barrel at less than 50'. I will be very happy with that. Did you install the barrel yourself?

Hmm, which one, the PDI 6.01 or that Falcon 6.03? PDI seems to have a good reputation but I worry about going full auto or having to clean it repeatedly.

That was my dilemma, but knowing akiraspeedstar's experience, and knowing the build quality, I chose the PDI. Worst case scenario, Airsoft Elites(or similar quality) jam, and I gotta switch over to KSCs permanently. I think it would take quite a lot to mess up the PDI, barrel. Cold hammer forging is boss.

What's wrong with AE's, are they too big?
