Hi, I've been looking for good handguards that I can switch with the cheap one that comes with most M4s, including mine, and was wondering if this one would fit on the KM4A1:

I know that the Magpul handguards fit on the gun but I was looking for a bit of an alternative to the usual handguard.  I also want to keep the batteries up front as well as getting some rails, as I am not experienced with rewiring nor do I have enough money to get an RIS and a PEQ box for it.

Thanks.  Do you know if they have any more or less space than the magpul m4 handguards?

They are real steel so they are going to be tighter than the stock hand guards.  Also, they will most likely be about 1'16" too long.  Maybe not, but be ready to be a modification just in case.

Ok, though I will probably just end up waiting a little while, as I just got my gun like 3 weeks ago.  Maybe I'll end up getting an RIS with a peq box or something.

That is a reasonable approach.  I have a real steel YHM 2pc front on my KM4A1.  To keep the battery forward and to get the most out of the gun I added a FET, changed the front wiring and use a 3pc LiPo.  The result is good but there was a lot of trial an ERROR to get it right. Here is a picture prior to adding the FET.  You can't see the wiring so much but you can see just how tight the front is.

The top gun is the one I refer to:
