There's a discussion about the M17/M18/M19 Series in our Gas Forums, some users have the opinion that the current Models got the NS2 System?!
I think there is no sign of NS2 in this series. Performance and construction looks different...
You have to know, there is no ATP available in Germany because we have no problem with the original;)
So what say the professionals?

The M Series is the grandfather of the NS2 gas system. So yes, the M Series pistols are using the NS2 system.

Ok. I figured the NS2 affords a minimum of 1,2j and needs plastic outerbarrel?

The MKI-MKIV series? You think of the 1911 Models? I have had a ASG-Duty One, this should be the same as a MKIV PTP (just another marking an frame in OD) and this model has definitely a plastik barrel!
I don't want to struggle, i'am just a little bit nosy^^

I think what GW's is saying is that while the initial barrel that comes with the gun is plastic, there is a metal barrel available for purchase on the pro shop that can be put into your MK series pistol and have it function fine.

Ah! OK! I don't know much about aftermarket parts from KWA, because it's horror to get such things importet here...
My last question to understand what the M17 (18/19) Series is:
are there more than one (current version - the grandfather of all NS2 models) versions in terms for the internal technique?
