I have a brand new  (bought in june) m4a1 that just recently started shooting intermittently. I run this battery http://www.airsoftex...roducts_id=5576 i have ran an 11.1 for about 1/4 of a day, probably one high caps worth of shooting in short bursts. I know enough about these guns to tear them down and rebuild them but its brand new, and i shouldnt need to. My thoughts are the contact switch, due to all the dust where i play, but im not 100% on that. Wh.at i am new to is lipos. I tried to plug one of two batteries into my charger, cheap wall charger of course, and shorted the charger out. Now the issue with the gun only seemed to happen with that battery, but today i tested both batteries and it does the same thing. all wiring, and fuse appear to be good. Gun has no upgrades. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Did you check the motor terminal connectors in the grip? Are they securely connected to the motor?
And if you toasted a wall charger I would assume that the battery is damaged as well.  And if you tried charging both of those batteries on the same charger before it blew, both batteries may be damaged.
You should get yourself a smart charger.  It can charge every battery type in the market safely.

Never checked anything but the batteries. I assumed i fried one battery, but not both. I intend to buy a better charger. Ill go check the terminals in a few, but dont think thats it. But i will check

So i checked the motor connections. The positive was rather loose. So i tightened it up. Now it seems to work fine. Left the motor disengaged and held the trigger down, no problem, just a dying battery now. Good call gypsy. To clarify the charger. I went to charge one of the batteries and hooked up the charging connection wrong. That caused a little spark and burned out one of 3 lights. The 3 lights signify one cell, two cell, and thre cell. I burned out the 2 cell light, but the charger seems to work. We will see. I plan to charge the battery for a while. How long does that type of battery typicaly take to charge. Also when i pulled the motor/pistol grip cover off i noticed it had a light dusting of what appeared to be copper dusting. I dont recall ever seeing that. Any ideas?

I wouldn't worry about the gold dusting and it's completely normal.  It's from the motor brushes when they wear down against the commutator.
