In 1996 H&K took their successful USP design and scaled it down to create the H&K USP Compact. Updates were made such as a bobbed hammer and slimmed profile to give the pistol more compact characteristics. The operational and cosmetic features from the USP design were maintained in the Umarex H&K USP Compact. These features include a working slide lock, safety, and ambidextrous magazine release. The “compact” was designed with a reinforced polymer lower frame and durable aluminum alloy slide that fits H&K holsters and accessories.
